From First Visit to Solar Handover
A transparent process helps customers understand what will happen at every stage before the project starts.
Site Visit & Assessment
Our team reviews the roof, shading, electricity bill, sanctioned load, cable routes and customer's requirements.
Quotation & Agreement
We prepare a written quotation with proposed capacity, equipment, scope, estimated timeline, warranty and payment milestones.
Material & Installation
After the agreed payment milestone, material procurement and delivery are coordinated and installation is scheduled.
Testing & Handover
The team checks system operation, safety components and monitoring, then explains operation and maintenance to the customer.
On-Grid, Off-Grid & Hybrid Solar
The main difference is how your system interacts with the electricity grid and whether it stores energy in batteries.
On-Grid Solar
Connects to the utility grid. Solar power is used by your loads, and surplus energy may be exported where permitted and approved.
Battery: Usually not included.
Power cuts: Standard grid-tied inverters normally shut down during a grid outage for safety; they do not provide backup on their own.
Off-Grid Solar
Designed to operate without a utility grid connection, using solar generation and batteries to supply suitable loads.
Battery: Normally essential for supply when solar generation is unavailable.
Planning: Battery capacity must match expected usage and backup duration.
Hybrid Solar
Combines solar, grid connection and battery storage. Compatible loads may receive backup during outages when the system is designed and configured for backup operation.
Battery: Included when selected in the design.
Planning: Backup load, battery size and inverter features need to be confirmed before purchase.
Inverters, Batteries & Safety Components
Correct equipment selection helps improve reliability, safety and the usefulness of your solar installation.
Solar Inverter
Converts DC electricity from solar panels into usable AC electricity. On-grid, off-grid and hybrid inverters serve different purposes, so selection must match the system design.
Solar Battery
Stores energy for later use in compatible systems. Battery chemistry, usable capacity, charging limits, temperature and expected backup duration should be considered.
Mounting Structure & Wiring
Correct structure design, suitable cables, earthing, isolation and surge/overcurrent protection are essential parts of a safe installation. Components are selected for the specific site.
Which battery do you need?
Battery selection depends on the loads you want to run, their wattage, backup hours, inverter compatibility and available charging energy.
- Lead-acid: Often lower initial cost; ventilation, upkeep and usable capacity matter.
- Lithium: Often higher usable capacity and integrated battery management; compatibility and warranty matter.
- No battery: Common for standard on-grid systems that are not designed to provide backup.
We can discuss suitable options after reviewing your requirements and equipment availability.
Ask About EquipmentSolar Maintenance & Service
Regular inspection can help identify dirt buildup, loose connections, visible damage, inverter alerts and other performance issues. Service frequency should reflect local dust, weather and equipment guidance.
Panel Cleaning
Remove dust and dirt using an appropriate cleaning method recommended for the installed panels. Avoid abrasive tools, harsh chemicals and unsafe rooftop work.
Electrical & Inverter Check
Qualified personnel inspect inverter alerts, visible wiring, protective devices, mounting condition and accessible connections using appropriate safety procedures.
Performance Review
Review available generation readings and reported faults, and help identify whether further troubleshooting or repairs may be needed.
Calculate Your Maintenance Cost
Enter your solar system capacity to estimate a standard maintenance visit at ₹700 per kW.
Maintenance Cost Calculator
Estimated charge per visit = installed capacity × ₹700
This is an indicative estimate, not a confirmed quotation. Taxes, travel, parts and special work may be extra if applicable.
Premium Solar Care Plan
A proposed annual care package for customers who prefer planned maintenance and service follow-up.
- 10 scheduled service visits during the annual term.
- Panel cleaning, subject to safe access and agreed scope.
- Visual inspection of accessible equipment and mounting.
- Basic inverter status and available generation review.
- Maintenance observations after each visit.
- Service scheduling and WhatsApp coordination.
- Fault identification and repair recommendations.
The package is a proposed offer until SM Green Energy Solutions confirms the terms. It does not replace manufacturer warranties or any mandatory maintenance commitments under an existing scheme or installation contract.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does an on-grid solar system work during a power cut?
A standard grid-tied inverter generally shuts down when the grid is unavailable for electrical safety. Backup requires compatible equipment specifically designed and configured for that purpose.
How much does maintenance cost?
The indicative calculation on this page is ₹700 per kW per visit. The final charge depends on the system, site access, location, work required and any applicable exclusions or taxes.
What is included in the ₹5,000 Premium Solar Care Plan?
The proposed plan includes 10 scheduled visits in a year. The final written plan must clearly define service coverage, travel limits, eligible capacity, repairs, parts, taxes and any other exclusions before customers subscribe.
When is the installation payment due?
Payment stages should be written in the quotation and agreement. A suggested starting structure is 30% on booking, 40% on material delivery, 20% after installation and testing, and 10% at the agreed handover or commissioning milestone. Actual terms must be agreed for each project.
Can I receive a government subsidy?
Eligibility depends on the applicable scheme, consumer category, vendor requirements, equipment requirements and current rules. Subsidy should never be promised until eligibility and the relevant official process have been checked.
